Web development is becoming a common needed tool for everyone in some degree or another. A web editor tool such as Dreamweaver, Expression Web, or HTML programming can provide the beginning concepts to develop a web page. In order to do serious development, students must use the tools specifically designed to customize the web page such as Captivate, Flash, or XML.
Classes can be taken in several sequences as illustrated below. You can take either a web editor class or HTML first in the sequence. However, it is important to have a foundation prior to taking one of the higher end develop tools such as Captivate, Flash, or XML.

HTML
Hypertext Markup Language is the core language used by most web sites. Having a better understanding of this will allow you to fix or correct problems that inter-mix multiple technologies.
Dreamweaver
This is an Adobe Web development editor that is used to create HTML web pages. It is a competing product with Microsoft Expression Web.
Expression Web(FrontPage)
This is the latest version of Microsoft FrontPage. It is a web editor used to create HTML pages, and is a competing product with Dreamweaver.
Captivate
This will allow you to capture screen shots on your computer and quickly turn them into lessons (movies). The movies you create can be interactive--you can add images, captions, rollovers, clickable areas, typing areas and sound effects.
Flash
This is used to create vector graphics-based animation programs with full-screen navigation interfaces and graphic illustrations.
XML
(Extensible Markup Language) XML describes content in terms of what data is being shown. For example, the word "phoneme" placed within markup tags could indicate that the data following is a phone number.
